As I became more acquainted with AOL's Writing Forums, I found I definitely preferred the Poetry Boards. The poets tended to be more descriptive in their writing and painted some very colorful word pictures. Also, many of the poets wrote about love and relationships in fairly erotic terms, which often made for some very interesting reading — especially in view of the fact that much of what they wrote was about their own personal experiences.
My particular forte was humor and satire. No matter what the "theme of the week" was, I could usually find something funny about it.
One week the topic was MAGIC.

Well, I started doing card and coin tricks when I was 11 — so this was a subject I couldn't resist writing about. One thing I felt compelled to describe was an event that occurred when I was 14, at which a sultry divorcee lured me into a bedroom in an attempt to pry some of my "magician's secrets" out of me. So I posted:
14-Year-Old Magician & the Seductive Divorcee.
Then I composed some limericks with lines that began like these:
The last one I posted went like this:
All the limericks in their entirety can be seen
here.
However, I'm sure you're still wondering how "cyber sex" entered into all of this.
Well, I did write a poem on the subject — and to my surprise, one of the Board Staffers immediately deleted it. She said it was "too graphic" and fell under the category of "bad taste."
So I immediately wrote to the Board Manager and asked her opinion on the matter.
Well, she agreed with me that there was no reason the poem should not be posted, and she immediately reinstated it. The staffer who had deleted the poem, naturally, was furious about this. But what eventually happened between her and me is a whole other story that will be told some other time.
Anyway, here's the controversial piece I had posted:
Cyber Sex
So what's this thing called "cybering?"
And what's its big appeal?
I've heard that one
can have some fun…
but can this be, like "real?"
Well, look who's there — that gal who said
she'd like to play with me.
So what the heck —
I'll risk my neck.
We'll see what we shall see.
Well, hi there, ma'am - remember me?
You said you liked my style.
What's that you say -
you'd like to play -
and have me for a while?
Well, I'm all yours — my time is free —
just tell me what to do.
You say that I'm
here just in time
to start undressing you?
You're wearing what? Well, that's not much —
that should come off real quick.
And with one glance
you'll see my pants
reveal my thoughts of you.
Well, off they come — I'm showing you
the way I really feel.
Oh, there's your hand...
say, that feels grand...
you know, this does seem real.
The moves start getting wilder now...
they take my breath away.
This cyber stuff
can get quite rough,
if you know how to play.
So that's the way the hours pass...
and if you do it right,
the net effects
of cyber sex
can really make your night.
And there are many who point out
that it's the safest sex in the world.
No, the illustration seen here did not accompany the poem.
The Writing Boards were text only with no graphics.
I found this painting online one day, and put it at under
the poem when I posted it on this web site.
By the way, I have no idea who painted this picture,
but it has become a very popular download on the site.
If I am told that I'm using the image in violation of the
artist's copyright, I will stop displaying it unless
I get authorization to use it.
